Entombed Sentinels
The Venomous Abyss · boss 2 of 8
The Blood and Breath of Ula'tek bar the way to Vashnik's inner sanctum. Ancient golems that long stood guard within the vaults, now corrupted by the venom of the nightmarish monster they imprisoned.
Two venom golems that shield each other while close together. Split them apart, kill them at the same pace, and solve the stack-count puzzle at 100 energy.
A positioning fight with a maths check on top. Keep the Breath and the Blood of Ula'tek far apart so Ula'tek's Dominance drops, tank and damage them evenly, and when they merge get Helical Toxins to the exact neutralising count.

What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Letting the two golems stand near each other. Within range they grant each other Ula'tek's Dominance, cutting their damage taken.
- Standing near a golem too long. The Breath applies Mark of the Aolem and the Blood applies Mark of the Bolem to anyone nearby, and both marks stack.
- Botching Helical Toxins at the merge. Hitting anything other than the exact application count leaves it to explode into a Cultivated Burst instead of fizzling.
Your job
If you tank
- One tank per golem, kept far apart. Keeping them out of range of each other is the single most important job.
- Don't stand and eat repeats — Empowering Slam and the Blood's Injecting Strike (Bloodvenom Injection) escalate every time they land on the same target.
- Face the Breath of Ula'tek away from the raid; it sprays Toxic Droplets in front of itself.
If you heal
- Blighted Blood from the Blood of Ula'tek is dispellable — dispel it.
- Contaminate is the whole-raid tick radiated by a Venom Coagulation slime. It doesn't stop until the slime dies; you won't out-heal a live one.
- Both golems' proximity marks stack, so people who linger in melee take escalating, not flat, damage.
If you DPS
- Keep the two golems at even health. At 100 energy they merge for Vitriolic Homeostasis and the healthier one heals the weaker back up to match — a lead you built gets erased.
- Kill Venom Coagulation slimes fast; Contaminate hits the whole raid the entire time they live.
- Step on Toxic Droplets to pop them for a little Nature damage — letting them time out into Noxious Blast hits everyone.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Split them up | Two tanks, two corners, out of each other's range so Ula'tek's Dominance falls off. Damage evenly. |
| Vitriolic Homeostasis at 100 energy | Both rush together, take reduced damage, and the weaker Sentinel is healed until it matches the other. This is why you kept them even. |
| Helical Toxins | The merge infects everyone with an entangled venom. Colliding with another player combines the strength; reach exactly the neutralising count to remove it harmlessly, or it detonates as Cultivated Burst on expiry. |
Heroic vs Mythic
Heroic and Mythic
The journal publishes no Heroic- or Mythic-specific text for this encounter. Anything claiming a difficulty change here is guessing. We would rather say that than invent a difference.
Loot
Everything Entombed Sentinels can drop, from the Midnight Season 2 item database.
| Slot | Item |
|---|---|
| Head | Shadow Hunter's Warmask |
| Neck | Sentinel's Vitriolic Chain |
| Legs | Venom Warden's Greaves |
| Wrist | Venom-Singed Cuffs |
| Trinket | Keeper's Seething Core |
| One-hand | Ancient Construct's Venomshiv |
| Two-hand | Caustic Keeper-Crusher |
| Held in off-hand | Spine of the Hissing Abyss |
Nothing matches that.
This boss drops a trinket. Trinket value varies enormously by spec — see the simulated trinket rankings.
Worth a bonus roll?
That depends on how many items on this table you still want. A boss owing two or more is worth returning to; one owing a single piece is a vault pick, not a roll — the bonus roll guide explains why, and the planner works it out per spec.
