Vashnik the Malignant
The Venomous Abyss · boss 4 of 8
Within The Chamber of Virulence, Vashnik the Malignant distills Ula'tek's venoms into ever more lethal forms. The creature lurks in its noxious chamber, brewing foul toxins to empower its brood.
Living venoms crawl toward the Malignant Cavity in the center. Kill them before they arrive, and race the ever-thickening Toxic Vapor.
A walker race with a hard clock. At 100 energy Vashnik Imbibes from two fountains, erupting living venoms that crawl to the Cavity — kill each before it arrives or it detonates a Malignant Burst. Every Imbibe also stacks permanent Toxic Vapor, so the fight has a real length limit.

What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Living venom reaching the Malignant Cavity. Each arrival is a Malignant Burst on the whole raid, and it stacks.
- Toxic Vapor. It builds with every Imbibe and never falls off — this is your soft enrage.
- Siphoning Infection absorbing your healing at the wrong moment, or infections left un-dispelled.
Your job
If you tank
- Dripping Fangs ramps a bleed and raises your Physical damage taken as it stacks. Swap when it's uncomfortable.
- Imbibe is heavy raid damage and a self-empower for Vashnik — the fountains he drinks from set which venom type and Expulsion come next. Survive it and be ready for that element's venoms.
If you heal
- Imbibe's Expulsions are heavy, predictable raid damage. Cooldown them.
- Toxic Vapor stacks all fight — the back half is far harder than the front. Save cooldowns for late.
- Siphoning Infection and Stygian Infection absorb the next healing on their targets. Don't dump a big heal into the absorb; on Mythic, Exploding Infection must be dispelled before it ramps.
If you DPS
- The instant the fountains erupt, switch to the living venoms. Nothing may reach the Cavity.
- Know the venom type: Clotting Venom (Blood) can't be crowd-controlled, Shrouded Venom (Shadow) carries a damage-absorb, and Burning Venom (Flame) explodes into Caustic Surge when killed — mind where it dies.
- Kill them early on their path, and expect each Imbibe to raise both the venoms' health and the Expulsion damage via Vashnik's Infusions.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Kill the crawlers | At 100 energy Vashnik Imbibes from the two nearest fountains; the living venoms they spawn crawl toward the Malignant Cavity and must die before arrival. |
| The air thickens | Each Imbibe adds permanent, stacking Toxic Vapor and empowers his next Expulsion. The fight is on a clock — burn accordingly. |
Heroic vs Mythic
What changes on Heroic
- Burning Venom's death explosion (Caustic Surge) also applies a stacking Fire damage-over-time — the journal marks this for Heroic and Mythic.
What changes on Mythic
- Imbibe also draws Malignant Tumors (Malignant Totems) from the fountains, which pulse stacking Nature waves (Malignance).
- Plague Waves from Plague Froth now destroy Malignant Tumors, so where the waves point actually matters instead of being background damage.
- Exploding Infection gains a stack every 1.5 seconds until dispelled — dispel priority becomes mandatory, not optional.

Worth a bonus roll?
That depends on how many items on this table you still want. A boss owing two or more is worth returning to; one owing a single piece is a vault pick, not a roll — the bonus roll guide explains why, and the planner works it out per spec.
