Zaen Bladesorrow
Murder Row · boss 2 of 4
Clever, quick-witted and commanding, Zaen Bladesorrow oversees the shipments of illegal fel artifacts. Those under his command follow his orders to the letter... or pay the price.
Line of sight is the whole fight. The crates are your cover, his bombs are how you lose it.
Break line of sight for Murder in a Row: at 100 energy he aims at every player he can see and shoots them for heavy Physical damage plus a bleed. Same-Day Delivery drops Forbidden Freight to hide behind, but Fire Bomb, and Murder in a Row itself, blow crates up, so cover is constantly created and destroyed.

What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Being visible at 100 energy. Murder in a Row is heavy Physical plus a bleed on everyone in his line of sight; only a solid object stops it.
- Sheltering behind a crate that is about to blow. A Fire Bomb or Murder in a Row hitting your cover triggers Freight Explosion, which detonates it and knocks you clear, into the open.
- Fel-Infused Freight left up. It burns the whole group every second no matter where you stand.
Your job
If you tank
- Envenom applies Heartstop Poison, which cuts your maximum health rather than just damaging you; your effective health is lower than the bar going into the next hit.
- Hold him where crates sit on more than one side so the group is not all sheltering behind the same one.
If you heal
- Killing Spree ignores armour and hits everyone for its full duration; heal through it, you cannot dodge it.
- Anyone caught by Murder in a Row is bleeding afterwards, not just hurt.
If you DPS
- Move to cover on the energy bar, not on the cast. Arriving late is the same as not going.
- Spread your hiding spots. Fire Bombs are aimed at players, so four people behind one crate is one bomb from four people in the open.
- Kill or clear Fel-Infused Freight; it damages the whole raid continuously until it is gone.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | Same-Day Delivery scatters Forbidden Freight across the room as cover, and refreshes it as the fight goes on. |
| Step 2 | At full energy he aims Murder in a Row at everyone he can see; break line of sight behind a crate. |
| Step 3 | Fire Bombs and Murder in a Row blow up crates, Fel-Infused Freight burns the group, and Killing Spree damages through everything. |
Higher keys
Heroic and Mythic
The journal publishes no key-level-specific text; higher keys scale health and damage. We would rather say that than invent a difference.
Loot
Everything Zaen Bladesorrow can drop, from the Midnight Season 2 item database.

Nothing matches that.

Worth a bonus roll?
You cannot roll this boss on its own. A dungeon roll is against the whole instance, so this table is one part of a pool that includes every other boss in Murder Row — the bonus roll guide explains what that changes, and the planner works it out per spec.
