Nymrissa Wavecaller
The Tidebound Grotto · boss 1 of 1
Nymrissa Wavecaller commands the restless sea itself, concealing her lair beneath shifting tides. Those who dare uncover her sanctuary find her murloc minions eager to answer their mistress' call.
Murlocs that reach her bubble come out of it upgraded — stop them on the way, and deal with her frost orbs before they shatter on their own.
Two conveyor belts at once. The Alluring Bubble lures Bubblefin Shorerunners toward it and turns any that arrive into empowered Bubblefin Berserkers; meanwhile Frost Orbs on the floor either get touched by one player or Shatter on everyone. Swirling Whirlpools then break the bubble, which Pops for group damage and a knockback.

What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Letting murlocs reach the bubble. Each Shorerunner that enters transforms into an empowered Bubblefin Berserker.
- Leaving a Frost Orb alone. Untouched, it Shatters — Frost damage on everyone plus a stacking bleed. Touched, it clings to one player as a stacking Frost DoT instead.
- A long fight. On Heroic and above, every Abyssal Rain grants Wavecaller's Might, permanently raising her Frost damage — a soft enrage answered by killing her sooner.
Your job
If you tank
- Iceblade Flurry raises your damage taken from Iceblade Flurry with every hit — it's a swap or a cooldown, not something to sit through twice.
- Water Jet is sustained damage on you as her current target; on Mythic it also removes Lingering Frost from the floor.
If you heal
- Abyssal Rain is the scheduled group damage, and on Heroic+ it also makes everything after it hit harder via Wavecaller's Might.
- The bubble popping is a Frost burst plus a knockback on everyone — predictable, since the whirlpools are what break it.
If you DPS
- Kill the Shorerunners between the water and the bubble — once one is inside, you're fighting a Berserker instead.
- On Mythic, the Bubblefin Frostscale shields nearby murlocs with Waterfog Shield — it dies first or nothing else does.
- Take an orb each. Lingering Frost makes you slide, so grab yours somewhere you can afford to.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | The Alluring Bubble forms and murlocs start swimming toward it. |
| Step 2 | Swirling Whirlpools surge in and break the bubble; Pop! throws everyone back. |
| Step 3 | Frost Orbs seed the grotto while Abyssal Rain builds her Frost damage. Repeat, harder each time. |
Higher keys
What changes on Heroic
- Abyssal Rain grants Nymrissa a stack of Wavecaller's Might, increasing her Frost damage — a soft enrage that rewards a faster kill.
What changes on Mythic
- Bubblefin Frostscales emerge and project Waterfog Shield, reducing damage taken by nearby murlocs — kill them first.
- Touching a Frost Orb also triggers a Frost Burst that hits the whole group (Chilling Frost).
- Water Jet can remove Lingering Frost from the floor.

Worth a bonus roll?
You cannot roll this boss on its own. A dungeon roll is against the whole instance, so this table is one part of a pool that includes every other boss in The Tidebound Grotto — the bonus roll guide explains what that changes, and the planner works it out per spec.
