The Hoardmonger
Den of Nalorakk · boss 1 of 3
Driven by voracious greed, the gluttonous Hoardmonger fiercely defends the stashes of food and supplies he has stolen from nearby troll tribes. Nalorakk's first trial is to eliminate him before the tribes go hungry.
He runs to the nearest hoard pile at three health thresholds and empowers an ability from it, so control where he stands; then soak his mushrooms before they ripen and burst.
At three health thresholds Resourceful Measures sends him to the nearest resource pile (bones, meat or mushrooms) and replaces one of his abilities with an empowered one, so his position when the threshold lands decides which. At full energy he throws Spoiled Supplies, littering Rotten Mushrooms that grow for 12 seconds; walk into each to soak its Toxic Spores before it detonates into a Putrid Burst that hits everyone.

What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Letting the mushrooms ripen. A Rotten Mushroom that survives its 12-second grow timer detonates in a Putrid Burst, applying Toxic Spores to the whole group. Walking into one instead gives the spores to you alone and destroys the fungus.
- Feeding him the mushroom pile. Overflowing Supplies increases how many Rotten Mushrooms he throws during Spoiled Supplies, more than the group can soak.
- Standing in his frontal cone. Earthshatter Slam, and its bone-pile replacement Bonespike Slam, hit a frontal cone for heavy damage; Bonespike Slam additionally leaves bone spikes that apply Bonespiked, ticking damage and slowing anyone who touches them.
Your job
If you tank
- You steer his upgrade. Pull him toward the pile you want him at before the threshold lands. Meat gives Hearty Bellow, armor-ignoring raid damage plus a lingering hit and a knockback, and is the worst one to hand him.
- Point his slam cone away from the group. If he took the bone pile, Bonespike Slam salts that cone with spikes that slow.
If you heal
- Toxic Spores is stacking Nature damage, and it is a poison, so any poison cleanse removes it. Bring that if you have it.
- Ravenous Bellow hits everyone and ignores armor. Hearty Bellow is the meat-pile version: the same plus a lingering hit and knockback, which is what makes handing him the meat pile expensive.
If you DPS
- Soak the mushrooms. One player taking Toxic Spores is a small stacking debuff; a mushroom left to burst is Toxic Spores on all five.
- Spread out as you soak, so it is one mushroom each rather than one person trying to reach several.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | Baseline damage from Earthshatter Slam (frontal cone) and Ravenous Bellow (armor-ignoring raid hit). |
| Step 2 | At each of three health thresholds, Resourceful Measures sends him to the nearest pile to empower an ability. Position decides which. |
| Step 3 | At 100 energy, Spoiled Supplies scatters Rotten Mushrooms; soak them within their 12-second grow timer before they Putrid Burst. |
Higher keys
Heroic and Mythic
The journal publishes no key-level-specific text; higher keys scale health and damage. We would rather say that than invent a difference.

Worth a bonus roll?
You cannot roll this boss on its own. A dungeon roll is against the whole instance, so this table is one part of a pool that includes every other boss in Den of Nalorakk — the bonus roll guide explains what that changes, and the planner works it out per spec.
