Merektha
Temple of Sethraliss · boss 2 of 4
Merektha is the product of foul experiments to produce an army of unstoppable beasts. With her clutch of eggs beginning to hatch, this mother is on the hunt for victims to serve as food for her ravenous children.
A space-management add fight: Storm Serpents and her breath salt the floor with lightning pools, so kill the snakes fast and keep moving before the room runs out of safe ground.
Noxious Breath and the Storm Serpents' Storm Catalyst both drop Lingering Storm pools, so slow kills on the Storm Serpents mean more floor on fire. Interrupt the Toxic Vipers' Poison Spit, break any Knot of Snakes off a teammate, and dodge her Burrow.

What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Slow add kills. Each Storm Serpent left alive keeps calling lightning down and adding pools.
- Being in her Burrow path. It knocks you up and stuns you, and Burrowquake ticks the whole party while she is under.
- A Knot of Snakes left unbroken. It stops the wrapped player from acting and suffocates them until destroyed or incapacitated.
Your job
If you tank
- Lightning Bite is the heavy hit on you, and its Nature bleed runs into the next one.
- Hold her where the floor is already ruined. Fresh ground is worth more than tidy positioning.
If you heal
- Serpentstorm is knockback plus damage plus a burn, with Storm Strikes landing across the chamber at the same time. It is the busiest cast in the fight.
- Burrowquake ticks on everyone for as long as she is underground. It is unavoidable and it is why the burrow feels long.
If you DPS
- Interrupt Poison Spit from the Toxic Vipers. It is one of the few things here you can simply cancel.
- Break a Knot of Snakes immediately. Destroying or incapacitating it frees the player, and the freed clump is less dangerous than a teammate who cannot act.
- Kill Storm Serpents first. Vipers cost health; Storm Serpents cost floor.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | She fights above ground with Noxious Breath and Serpentstorm, seeding Lingering Storm where each lands. |
| Step 2 | Hatch releases Toxic Vipers and Storm Serpents. Interrupt the Vipers, kill the Serpents first. |
| Step 3 | Burrow: damage along her path, a stun for anyone caught, and Burrowquake on everyone until she surfaces. |

Worth a bonus roll?
You cannot roll this boss on its own. A dungeon roll is against the whole instance, so this table is one part of a pool that includes every other boss in Temple of Sethraliss — the bonus roll guide explains what that changes, and the planner works it out per spec.
