Taz'Rah
Voidscar Arena · boss 1 of 3
The domanaar's prized champion, Taz'Rah, is forced to fight against his will. Taz'Rah demands his own death from every opponent, hoping each battle will finally end his suffering.
His Ethereal Shades charge in straight lines through the player they pick, hitting everyone in the line — read the lines and stay out of the Void Fissures.
A movement fight with no cooldown to hide behind. Ethereal Shades pick a player and dash through them with Nether Dash, striking everyone in the line and leaving a lasting Shadow bleed. Dark Rift (the overview calls it Dark Bloom) is heavy group-wide Shadow damage that also erupts Void Fissures, which tick Shadow on anyone standing in them.

What actually kills you
Everything else is noise until these three are handled.
- Clipping a Nether Dash. The Shade hits every player along the line, not just its target, and it leaves Shadow ticking for a long time afterward.
- Standing in Void Fissures. Both Dark Rift and Ethereal Shards erupt fissures that tick Shadow — get out of them.
- Void Strike's knockback. It throws the target back — land somewhere clear, not in a fissure.
Your job
If you tank
- Void Strike (the tank hit, 'Void Blast' in the overview) is heavy Shadow damage with a knockback — it's Shadow, so armor does little.
- Keep Taz'Rah positioned so the Shades' dashes cross open floor rather than the group.
If you heal
- Nether Dash lingers — the long Shadow tick on everyone it clipped is the real cost, not the initial hit.
- Dark Rift is heavy group-wide Shadow damage that also opens Void Fissures — pre-heal it.
If you DPS
- Watch the Shades, not the boss — each telegraphs a line and everything in it gets hit.
- Stay spread and out of the fissures; don't line up behind allies for Nether Dash.
How the fight goes
| Part | What to do |
|---|---|
| Step 1 | Taz'Rah fights with Void Strike and Ethereal Shards while Ethereal Shades spawn around the arena. |
| Step 2 | The Shades dash in lines through the players they select — everything in each line is hit. |
| Step 3 | Dark Rift: heavy group-wide Shadow damage and erupting Void Fissures — spread out and avoid the fissures. |

Worth a bonus roll?
You cannot roll this boss on its own. A dungeon roll is against the whole instance, so this table is one part of a pool that includes every other boss in Voidscar Arena — the bonus roll guide explains what that changes, and the planner works it out per spec.
